This product category is a popular one not only for the look of the products but mostly for the livability! There are glue-down, loose-lay, and click options that we can help you decide between. The look can be clean and elegant, high color-variation, and standard to extra wide or long planks!

These floors are best known for being waterproof, yes waterproof! Imagine a small leak, an animal who has an accident, or children that spill without a thought for cleaning it up – these are the floors we can live on!

Type of Materials

  • Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)

LVP is made from polyvinyl chloride resins (PVC) that are melted down, combined with other chemicals, and then pressed together into planks - in multiple layers - with the intent of imitating real hardwood flooring species, colors, and textures.

  • Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)

The process of making LVT is similar to LVP; however, the final product is to imitate stone and ceramic tile offering colors, patterns, and textures of natural stone and tile materials.

LVP & LVT Options

  • WATERPROOF: This type of floor is by far the most popular!  Being a waterproof option has made it a best bet for most homes.

  • SIZE: Varies from wood-look planks starting from 6" wide going to extra-wide 9" and tile-looks in plank, square,  or rectangular.

  • WEAR-LAYER: This is your scratch resistance!  6mil on up - we like at least a 12mil for residential and 20mil for commercial, but every project is different.

  • TEXTURES: Textures include smooth, embossed, and embossed & registered as well as some lines offering an enhanced edge for definition of plank or tile visual.

  • COLORS: Offers a rainbow of colors to complement any decor.

The price of these floors can start at $1.00 per square foot for the materials and a good number to use when planning your installed budget can range from $4.00-$7.00 per square foot.

When you are looking for the right luxury vinyl, there are key factors such as the wear layer to consider – we’ll help guide the decision!
